Who or what do you see as the enemies of running? Here is my list. Add to it. Or maybe there is one here you don’t agree with.
The couch
Television
A busted alarm clock
Oprah. (come on, did she really RUN the NYC marathon?)
Run/walk programs
Medals for just showing up.
MP3 Players? (I enjoy hearing my surroundings)
Treadmills
Moderation
Ice cream (My personal demon)
Red Lights/ “Don’t Walk” signs. Or anything that makes you stop in mid-run.
Late nights at the office.
when I lived in Colorado...people who don't shovel their sidewalks
in Florida...thick swarms of mosquito's chasing me down the road

I can't believe you guys are talking about the women with the sweaters over their butts. SOME women wear the sweaters because to often creepy guys stare at our ASSES like its another planet, but me myself, I don't cover my bottom I run and work out at the gym thinking how I love my big butt! so now what?!
the point is, why try to hide what can't be hidden? if you have a big butt and are in the gym working or out running then you are doing the right thing so be proud.....also don't tell me that a girl wearing compression shorts with a .5" inseam doesn't want her butt looked at...even by creepy guys
one more to add...fanny packs!! how can you do anything physical with that crap flopping around your waist?
People who wear workout clothes and don't work out... because they are comfortable. You know, there are some countries where you can be put punished for wearing the wrong thing. So, my opinion is that there should be punishment for wearing running gear when you're not going to run... or when you don't run.
the overuse of sport drinks and gels. some running stores push this crap on beginning runners who scarf it down on 30 min. runs, and these poor newbies can't understand why they don't lose any weight. nobody should be taking in calories during any workout less than an hour and a half.
i totally agree. i was telling my friend who just started running that unless youre running 75 minutes you wont be needing any type of supplement like that before during or after your run. i get a lot of crap from ppl about my diet in that way as well. i hear a lot of "you should be eating before you run like that." it gets old but truth is unless your running over an hour you dont need a pre-run meal, a gel/sports drink, or any type of chews. its just annoying. youre body isnt even burning stored fat at an hour. ppl who run only to lose weight prob arent running that far or that long to even be using them anyways...youre right and ppl should read abt stuff like that.
I would definately add the wimps who complain about some little ache or pain two minutes into a run. personally, i dont care ho bad ur hurting if u havent broken a bone or something else thats actually serious i dont want to hear about it. i get tired of hearing about the cramp that u have or how bad your knee hurts or something of that sort when uve been running for less than a mile. Seriously suck it up.
or even running for an hour...get over yourself. people are so self-absorbed these days they have an excuse for everything. as heather says dont talk about it, be about it. for real. if you cant run, you cant run. for some reason people think justifying it to other runners makes them the exception. ohhh im an awesome runner, just not today because...blah blah. ya right buddy. prove it. youre not the exception youre the excuse. now stop complaining and go home. because in the real world winners train. go hard or go home, because frankly nobody cares about you. youre just not that important.
no! what is that?! all that and just girl time this weekend? but it's cool we're running part of pike's peak sunday :)
ha! this is crazy! forget saverun, this should be savemen! thanks for listening to all the bitching!
