i know i just posted about a supposed broken toe (turned out to be nothing) but now i really think something is wrong with the tip of my tailbone.
yesterday morning it felt a little sore so i put just a little pressure on it with my fingertips and i almost passed out. it was very very very tender.
but here's the thing - i haven't fallen on it or anything so... what the hell? is it possible that my muscles are so tight that they've pulled it somehow? could it be a stress fracture?
dood. so crazy, last month i had a "stress fracture" in my left foot and was out for a week. like fun it was a fracture. and now yesterday i have the exact same pain in my right foot. different spot but it hurts so bad it feels broken. im pretty sure both were due to extremely tight muscles in my calves and shins, perhaps even my hips and upper legs/lower back. the chiro said it was tightness in my hamstrings...so im just going with lack of stretching and taking the day off from running. im rolling the dice here and really pushing my body to respond quickly and heal. i also had a dexa scan and found that i have osteoporosis. so im taking a lot of calcium (4-6 pills daily) to strengthen my bones...after all i am only 24. i never tripped, fell, stubbed, rolled, injured either of my feet before they started hurting either. just from running alone such high miles i broke bones. rest up, cross train and take calcium(& vitamin D) to heal. thats my advice. good luck buddy!!
i don't know what to think. tight muscles was my initial thought. so i've been stretching... and today it's worse. i can not sit down and the pain seems to have spread a little higher. it feels like it could be a stress fracture, but it's just that... in that particular area? not especially likely, right? i mean that little tip is barely connected to anything and it's mostly cartiledge - ya know? it's not like other bones that take direct hits or deal with direct impact... it's so isolated.
so i asked some of the trainers at work and the possibilities are:
-a growth (dude, what?)
-calcification
-an ulcer
-super tight glute muscles
the guy who said that is one that i've worked with before and i feel is very knowledgeable. he said that it's very obvious that my hip flexors are too tight because of the way i stand and that it's very possible that everything in that region just really needs to be loosened up. i really hope it's that simple.
i'm just dumbfounded though. it seems like something would need to have happened (like a fall) to cause this. anyway. i'm planning on going to the good ol' doctor next week to get it figured out... or to not get it figured out at all and just keep paying them to walk around with their heads up their asses :)
no! what is that?! all that and just girl time this weekend? but it's cool we're running part of pike's peak sunday :)
ha! this is crazy! forget saverun, this should be savemen! thanks for listening to all the bitching!
