Save Run

Running Preservation Society

I'm sure that you all remember the 7th grade history class that you were told about the turning point of the American Revolution. Of course -- the Battle of Saratoga. Here's an opportunity to step back into history, as you're stepping out for a run.

The Battlefield is now owned and operated by the National Parks Service. It offered a choice of roads or trails for your run, along with places to ride your horse or bike.

The main road around the Park is 10.75 miles, measured and marked every 1/4 mile. And what's really nice is that the road is one way with a 15 mph speed limit, that's enforced! So you don't need to worry about crazy drivers trying to kill you. You will need to keep an eye out for any of the hundreds of deer, hawks, eagles and other wildlife that make the park their home. Not to mention the cyclists that also love training there.

The run offers great views of the Adirondack mountains to the North and of the Berkshire Mountains and Hudson River to the East. It's very easy to see why this was such a key military location.
