August 22nd, another successful run up the Bulldog trail in malibu, California. 25K trail run, 3:01 and change. Much better than last years 3:27 effort. This is a very hilly course, 1800 elevation gain between miles 2.5-6, followed by rolling hills, then all the elevation that you gained is lost between miles 9-13, followed by one more gain of 200-300 feet in 1 mile. Great small race atmosphere, strongly recommended. Wonderful staff and management. Perhaps the toughest race in the greater LA area. Also has a 50K Ultra associated with it. 2 laps. See you there next year!

Cheers!!!

Jim

Just completed my first Half Marathon at the Forest City Road Races in London Ontario. I finished in 1:45:56 which is a tad slower than I had hoped for but its just making me train harder for the Toronto Waterfront Half-Marathon.

Another ascent up the Bulldog Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains is complete. Thank you to the Xterra trail race company for putting on the race. This 14 mile run is absolutely grueling, kicks my ass every time, but it is also a lot of fun. Finished in a pedestrian 3:04, but that includes the 1800' elevation gain and loss.
Cheers everyone!

Running the Great Race of Agoura, the Cheseboro Trail 1/2 marathon this Saturday morning. Should be good. Usually attracts about 1500. Update next week.

I have an australian shepherd and he LOVES to run. In fact you have to run them or else they'll find ways to get in trouble when you're not around. I run him in the morning for 4 miles and then my wife will run him in the afternoon. They are great...
