NOT FAST, THAT'S ME

Latest Activity

I run with pepper spray also. I keep it in my hand so everyone I pass can see I have it. I also wear my phone on a clip on my shorts. I know it's alot of shit to carry but I'd rather be safe than dead.

oh shit... screw teh two-a-days then! that would be brutal!

My race is October 3rd. I really want to do two-a-days but I have to be at work at 7am and it takes me an hour to get to work. I would have to wake up around 3:30am to get the miles in. Excuses excuses

when's your race? i highly recommend two-a-days... i do just about no speed work (though i'm about to start...) but since i've started doubling my pace has gotten faster and it's a good way to get in some more miles. it's kinda rough at first but...

I always wear mine. I don't look at it during my run however. I use it for the data it collects and then up-load it onto my computer. It makes analyzing and comparing runs easy. Plus, if I run in a place that isn't marked with mile markers I alway...

1/2 Marathon Training

I'm starting my half marathon training on Sunday. I've only run 4 races of that distance and my best time is only 1:51. I would really like to get in the 1:41 range. I know it may not seem like a lot but thats 30 seconds faster per mile, and when you're moving from an 8:30 pace to a 7:45 it feels like a huge difference. Hope fully I can make it happen. I'm not one of those runners who was born with a God given tallent for running, I have to work for every second I can get. I'm going to up my mil… Continue

Race Addict

Even though I'm not the fastest runner I love to race. I think I have an addiction.

Not as planned

Well I sucked ass at the marathon. I stayed with the 4 hour pace group until about mile 14. The temp at the start was about 72 and when I got done it was 87 with a heat index of well above 90. Every medical station I passed had at least one person hooked up to and IV. There were ambulances everywhere and one half marathoner even died. One guy passed out right in front of me. It was like a war zone on the course. So I finished with a disappointing 4:52:57.

Gettin' nervous

My first marathon is on Saturday and I'm so nervous. They are calling for a high of 85. That really pisses me off...I'm not prepared for that kind of heat. We'll see how it goes... 4hrs. or BUST!

Garmin Forerunner 205

I just bought the Garmin Forerunner 205 and I just have to say, if you don't have one, get one. I have a feeling this will become an obsession. I've always wanted to run in different places and know how far I had gone and what my pace was, now I can! After your run you just plug it in and get a detailed map of where you went, your pace, distance, elevation change, time, temp, and wind speed. This has to be the coolest thing ever! GET ONE!

thank you! i love the picture at the finish too (i'm soooooo incredibly glad it's not a bad picture 'cause it's in the paper).

the shorts are from runner's roost (my shoe store). instead of the regular lining, they have little compression tights inside and they are SUPER comfortable. they're just asics so i'm sure they have them at stores in other states... or online.

ended up getting a bad sinus infection and my dr said not to run but who pays then doesnt run...i started out at 7 min/miles and was feeling great, saw my bf errr fiance and stopped to talk, shouldnt have bc i was near the front. prob 500 ppl passed so i just ran the half and tried to have fun. ended up running next to my boss as she came out on the 2nd leg of the relay and ran with her to the finish. since fargos flooded we just did a circle once for the half twice for the full...maybe a 2:13 had to stop and use the bathroom twice and stopped to tell my brother n mom i almost crapped my pants...haha. looking forward to the next and not really down abt bc i got engaged weds and still happy bc of it. maybe next year!

are you excited? i'm not quite yet... it still seems far away. otherwise i only have a few races picked out for this summer but they're kind of intimidating ones: the pike's peak ascent and then the imogene pass run which goes 17 or so miles from ouray to telluride.

hey there! i'm doing the colfax marathon on may 17th (i think it's the 17th at least... could be the 16th... i should definitely find out for sure sometime soon). my goal fro the summer is to run a 3:10, but this is my first full marathon ever so i'm hoping for a 3:20 this time around. what are your plans for this summer? got any big races lined up?

Living in Utah we have a lot. plus the xterra has been here the last three years and have made for some fun and difficult coarses. nothing like a 10k or a 12k with 2-1000' evevation gains mixed in to get the thighs and calves burning.

I have an australian shepherd and he LOVES to run. In fact you have to run them or else they'll find ways to get in trouble when you're not around. I run him in the morning for 4 miles and then my wife will run him in the afternoon. They are great...
