The most dramatic improvements in times will almost always be in your first year, the better you get the smaller the improvements will be. As you approach your physical peak, a second or two off will become a major accomplishment. If you go into you…

Cody is right in that you cant get too wraped up in times. Ultimately its effort that counts, if you are happy with that than time doesn't really matter. Eventually your times will peak, and then you will start slowing down. Probably not something y…

It was the add that got me here, couldn't help but to laugh. Just enough of an edge on it to offend those who need to lighten up a little anyway. I am 45 and started running about a year ago. I call it running not because of how fast I go, but because of how fast I try to go. It was my wife that got me into it, she's been running for a couple years. We have done a bunch of 5Ks, a 10k, and a 15K, hope to get a 1/2 marathon in by the end of the summer. My long term goal is to be able to outrun my kids for as long as I can!

I live in the LaCrosse area. I know Door Cty is beautiful, you must have some fantastic routes there, LaCrosse also has some great trails to offer along the Mississippi! I have a 5k next weekend that'll run right along one of the lakes and then the River -- it should be gorgeous! Thanks for the welcome!

41:19, but the interesting thing is that two weeks later, I ran a half marathon that was on the same course as the 10k (just rearranged a bit, with a few miles added), and if I had run the 10k at the same pace I ran my half marathon, I would have go…
