as far as i'm concerned, the longer the run the better.
i can't deal with not being able to run - on vacation, on days where i decide to rock the eliptical, on rest days... i get cranky and anxious and pretty much awful to be around. i highly dislike running inside (because who the hell wants to run 15 miles around a little indoor track - or worse, the treadmill) but shit happens and sometimes one must do things one dislikes... the worst is when you have the rather round walker taking up more than their share of the track and doing whatever that arm wave/strech/thing is.
some things i find irksome are: the running skirts, nike shox, people who chew with their mouths open, racewalking (which has got to be the most unnatural movement known to mandkind), less than svelt girls running in just their sports bras (hey, i'm all for people loving their bodies and all that but i don't need to get in on that love at all), and also volkswagen commercials.
i do not understand people who don't like running... i'm just like "well, you're a moron. you're probably doing it wrong. why don't you go have some doritos and think about it."
i'm a vegetarian and i'm more or less a health nut (uless alcohol is involved and then i've been known to bust out the pretzels and ranch dressing and possibly verbally assault a waitress for a french fry). i am a huge supporter of animal rights and a grammar nazi (though i have no problem with typing everything in lowercase).
some things i'm marginally obsessed with besides running: baking (you know when you just have like 10 too many things going on and choose to ignore all of them and do something else? for me that something else is baking... a lot, which is really pointless because i don't eat things like that so i end up with just a ton of cookies or oatmeal bars until i force people to eat them; the other week i had to hide some eclairs that someone else brought in so that everyone would eat my blueberry oatmeal bars instead - mine were better anyway), polishing my nails (about 3 times a week), doing laundry (i really have to repress some urges so i don't end up doing it every day), feeding the squirrels in my backyard, reading, doing everything possible to ensure that i live to be 120, and organizing the pens in my little pen caddy at work.
That's funny he read that and flipped out! Ooops!!! I can't run races with you - you'd totally kick my a$$!! Then again, I know you'd also be good motivation! It will have to be a goal so that I can train BETTER and harder in the hopes of at least not coming to far behind you!
turns out I am 21 seconds better than "that". A touch over-confidant, probably should have done a few more road races over the summer, all I did was trail-race. Thanks for your support! Erica sais hi.
I think that I am ready, a few nagging injuries that may or may not be worse then I am going to give them credit for. I will be satisfied with a 3:30, but I think that I am better than that. We'll see... as far as donations go.. 20 is cool, if not. hell 5 or 10 it all adds up and goes to helping one of our own. I am bringing a pledge sheet and an envelope on Wednesday.
I haven't been able to find any (so far) that I'm really interested in, but I have found a fe 10K's in the next couple of months, so I'll do those. Good luck this weekend! Of course, you'll do great!
negative :( we got a bunch of snow and my friends girlfriend actually got snowed in down in the colorado springs (near pike's peak) so we decided to stay closer to home.
