Today the national weather service issued a heat wave advisory, meaning the heat index is up to 110...plus it is so damn humid running is nearly impossible. I've run through a hurricane so I'll face almost any type of weather, but heat stroke is not cool, especially when you can get heat stroke from running at 10 at night.

Fun fact of the week, in 4 days I will be leaving florida for colorado springs and the air force academy. not a bad change in weather, though I will be going through basic training so not much time to get out and run.

update: today I ran at 11:00. It was 85 degrees and 91% humidity. That means it feels like 96 and I want to shoot myself 20 minutes into a run.

ya wanna hear something funny? there's a group of guys who come into the rec center where i work and they do fitness testing for people who are trying to get into the seals program.... one of the officers (or captain or whatever he is) was telling me about how some kids start off and they're sooooo out of shape that they fracture their legs from all of the marching. now i highly doubt you'll have that problem but keep your eyes peeled for sissies with broken legs.
