My high school running career has finally come to an end.

I placed 6th at regions, running a 4:33 mile. I felt pretty good after it and I'm sure I could have gone faster and advanced...but I didn't. First lap was in 67 seconds, I was in about 4th place. Second lap no one really pushed at all so it was a 69. At the start of the third lap the clusterfuck started. Everyone and their mother surged. I tried to speed up with them but got boxed in around the first bend. I went from fourth to 9th place in like a second. I couldn't get out of the pack so I ran a 70 second lap. last lap I went for it, but the first 4 had already gapped the chase pack. I was working on tracking them down but I had given them too much space on the third lap. Last lap was a 67.

Winning time was a 4:24, Fourth place was 4:29.

Not a terrible way to end, but I still wish I were faster!

I remember my last race of high school the best of any. It was 2 miles and it was hell. You'll remember this race for years to come.

I was passing some kid on the second lap but he was trying to be a dick and was moving to the right so I would have to run farther around him. I used my elbows on him haha.

And definitely bigger and better things. Today was my last day of school, and I leave for basic training at the Air Force Academy on June 25!

why didn't you throw out some elbows in the third lap?! you have them for a reason! jk. that's definitely not a bad way to end the season... but on to bigger and better things right?
