Ok, so even though I haven't been on Save Run for well over a year, I haven't been sitting around either. I did the Buffalo Springs Half Ironman this past summer, as well as of couple of half marathons, and about 20 triathlons over the past year. I've had a lot of health problems, which I finally seem to be recovering from. I'm telling you, running can fix anything.
I'm coaching now, a kids' team, the UNT and TWU collegiate teams, and as an endurance coach at Lifetime Fitness. Not to play favorites, but working with the UNT team is still, well, my favorite. We just have a lot of history. But I enjoy every second of all of my jobs. The fact that I make a living coaching is, well, amazing.
For the coming year, I will continue to focus on distance since I am continuing to recover from all of the aforementioned health problems, and my goals are three half marathons this winter - White Rock, Grasslands, and Seabrook Lucky Trail - hopefully a 50K, as many sprint and Oly tri's as I can fit in there, then a Rim 2 Rim Grand Canyon run in May and the Honu Half Ironman in June. And, of course, leading the UNT team to a USAT national title. And making sure TWU has a full team at their first ever national championship race.
I'll try to update on here from now on.
